Junior Athletic training follows the following Rules and Risk Assessment. Please note, there is currently a waiting list for junior training places (children of all abilities age 9 and above are welcome, however details can not be taken before their 9th birthday). Bideford AAC offers both junior athletic and rowing opportunities for all abilities, both of which are extremely popular. If you are interested in the junior rowing section please get in touch, children must be age 11 and above.
Junior athletics/running
The Junior Section of the running club offers a variety of athletic opportunities. Children of all abilities age 9 and above are welcome to join, however there is currently a waiting list (please note child’s details can not be taken before their 9th birthday). The England Athletic qualified coaches, coaching assistants and other volunteers are all DBS checked.

Training takes place twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6pm and 7pm as follows:
Summer (April – August), Tuesdays and Thursdays
Track and field training at Moreton Park sports field.
Winter (Sept – April), Tuesdays
A variety of circuit type fun exercises and athletics at Moreton Park sports fields, and the multi-use games areas at Bideford College.

Athletics and running training at Moreton Park sports fields, and the multi-use games areas at Bideford College. This can be endurance training and juniors taking part will first need to undertake a trial session, where the coaches will judge your capabilities for this type of training.
Throughout the year, those wishing to compete are actively encouraged to take part in the Devon Open Series Track & Field League, Devon Sportshall League, Westward League Cross Country and the North Devon Cross Country League.
Anyone representing the club in competition must wear a club top, however this is not essential on training nights. A selection of club kit is available to purchase from the North Devon Hospice Shop, Chingswell Street, Bideford. View more information on club kit and prices here.

A consent form must be completed and handed into the coach at your first training session. Club membership must be paid in full and runs from 1 January to 31 December, 2019. Download a membership form or pay securely online.
