Junior Sculling Head, Dorney Lake

Two young crews travelled to London on Friday to take part in the Junior Sculling Head race held on Dorney Lake. Luckily the crews had good rowing conditions for the 1500m course and both put in fantastic performances, yet again making the club very proud.

Competing against crews from all over the country the women’s junior 15 crew of Nell Gierke, Charlie Smale, Sadhbh Connor and Joanna Grigg stormed through the field to finish in 20th place out of 71 crews.

The open junior 15 crew of Toby Evans, Charlie Colwill, Jack Berry and Tom Picillo also put in a solid performance and finished up in 40th place out of 63 crews.

A great day of rowing was had by all.

Bideford Half Marathon 2017

In memory of Geoff Fanson, who was one of the founders of the running section of Bideford AAC.

Jim Cole from Tavistock Running Club was 1st in 01:11:21, Jordan Andrews from Plymouth Harriers 2nd in 01:11:45 and Jack Blackburn from Pontypridd Roadents RC was 3rd in 01:14:43

The fastest lady was Serane Stone from Tiverton Harriers in 01:20:37, followed by Zelah Morrall from Cornwall AC in1:21:41
