The 2.6 Challenge supporting local charities

Join with Bideford AAC and the rest of the UK for The 2.6 Challenge on Sunday 26 April; bringing runners together on the day which should have been the 40th London Marathon. As well as the opportunity to support local charities, Over and Above Hospital Charity, North Devon Hospice, Children’s Hospice South West and The Northam Care Trust.

Any age or ability can take part on Sunday 26 April by:

  • Running or cycling 2.6 miles and donating a minimum of £2.60 (ideal for our juniors and their families)
  • Donating a minimum of £1 for every mile you run or cycle
  • Take part in any activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and making a donation
  • Or simply just making a donation using the links below

If you like to get social there is a Facebook event to join and I’m sure everyone would love to see your photos to see how creative you all are. Please share in the Facebook event, Bideford AAC family group or public page using #TwoPointSixChallenge

Important: please ensure any activity taken as part of your daily exercise follows the latest coronavirus instruction, at present we can leave the house for “One form of exercise a day alone or with members of your household” if you see other members of the public stay at least 2 metres (6ft) away.

The Virgin Money London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019. Many of these charities have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most; thousands of staff have been placed on furlough and many charities will not survive the next few months. Your help and support is invaluable.
