Virtual 5k Handicap Series

A series of four member only 5k events taking place in September, October, November and December.

How it works:

  • After entering all participants will be given a handicap time, which may be adjusted after each event at organiser’s discretion
  • Senior participants choose their own 5k route, junior participants chose either a 5k or 2k route; the start and finish must be in the same place
  • Participants must run the same route for all four events
  • Activities must be run, and results submitted within the following dates:
    Event week 1: Monday 21 to Sunday 27 September
    Event week 2: Monday 19 to Sunday 25 October
    Event week 3: Monday 16 to Sunday 22 November
    Event week 4: Monday 14 to Sunday 20 December
  • Results will be based on total elapsed time, not moving time.

New Year’s Day Run

1 January

Welcoming in the New Year the way the club knows best… by running – hangovers at own discretion!
The New Year’s Day run is a free member race for seniors (plus guest) and juniors on running the Two Bridges.

10.30 to 10.50am for registration (free) • 10.50am group photo (if possible) • 11am race start

Senior route (approx 4 miles) • Junior route (approx 2 miles)
Prizes for all finishers and team results are presented in the clubhouse after the race. Don’t forget to bring a plate of food for the bring and share lunch, the bar will also be open for New Year refreshments and celebrations.

Virtual New Year Run

Virtual run for senior and junior club members of all abilities from Friday 1 January to Thursday 7 January 2021. Kindly ask entries are received by Thursday 31 December 2020.

How it works:

  • Senior and over 16s participants choose their own 3.5 mile route, under 16 junior participants chose a 2 mile route; the start and finish must be in the same place, ideally an out and back course
  • Activities must be run, and results submitted between Friday 1 January to Thursday 7 January 2021
  • Team results are compiled by the accumulative times of the fastest and slowest runner, then second fastest/slowest and so on…
  • Prizes for the winning team – to be confirmed
  • Individual times will also be published

Race As You Like virtual runs

ENTRIES CLOSE ON THURSDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2021 BUT RUNS CAN BE COMPLETED AFTER THIS DATE – THERE IS NO TIMESCALE OR DEADLINE

Run 10k, 10 miles or half marathon at any time, in any UK location, at your own pace for bronze, silver, gold or blue medals from our 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 races. Collect medals from all three distances and they will stack together to make one. And Bideford AAC will donate a minimum of £2 from each entry to Children’s Hospice South West.

Results

It’s easy to complete Race As You Like:

  • Just enter the run for your chosen distance – Half Marathon, 10k and 10 Miler
  • Run the race distance at any time, in any UK location and at any pace
  • Email Bideford AAC with evidence that you have done it! This can be by sharing a photo of your GPS tracked run (such as Garmin, Strava or Fitbit activity).
  • Your run is verified, and the medal(s) will be posted to you.

It really is that simple, and the entry fee just covers costs, postage and packing as well as a £2 donation to Children’s Hospice South West. Limited number of medals available.

Each year the medal series have been unique to each race and stack together.
